CUPは東京都渋谷区表参道GYREのアトリウム空間で行われたインスタレーション「土から生まれた」のデザインを行いました。72枚の天然染色によるカラフルな布が沖縄と奄美の染色家ユニットkittanaiによって制作されました。
以下、作家によるテキスト。
全ては「土から生まれた」という考えは
太古の昔から世界中の神話や宗教の中に存在し
今もまだその芳香を微かながら放ち続けている
自然界において土は死と再生を内包したものであり
循環そのものの母胎ともいえるだろう
そこから生まれた生命で染めるという行為は
水、木、火、土、風という要素を取り込みながら
新しい道を作り出して行く
土の中に秘められたメッセージは色として昇華され
今私たちに必要な感性を呼び起こす
CUP designed the installation "Born from the soil" in the atrium space of GYRE, Omotesando, Shibuya-ku, Tokyo. 72 colorful cloths made by natural dyeing were produced by the dyer unit kittanai in Okinawa and Amami.

The idea that everything was born from the soil
Has existed in myths and religions around the world since ancient times
Even now, it continues to emit the fragrance, albeit slightly.
In nature, soil contains death and rebirth.
It can be said that it is the mother's womb of the circulation itself.
The act of dyeing with the life born from it
While incorporating the elements of water, wood, fire, soil, and wind
Creating a new path
The message hidden in the soil is sublimated as a color
Recall the sensibilities we need now
